Huge Festival was a festival celebrating the life and work of Hugh MacDiarmid...

"So I have gathered unto myslef

All the loose ends of Scotland,

And by naming them and accepting them,

Loving them and identifying myslef with them,

Attempt to express the whole."

Hugh MacDiarmid

Sponsored by Glenlivet (reportedly MacDiarmids favourite whiskey),  the day started with a guided walk through his home town stopping at significant places where some of his peoms where read by local residence and academics.

Supported by local charities and helped by Glasgow University, the walk started by his memorial sculpture and finished by his grave.

Following the walk was a full day of events at the local arts centre including a debate about the Scottish Referendum, readings from locals and poets and comedy.
